Ninjas are cool. That's an unassailable fact. These ruthless assassins are shrouded in mystery and can kill a man in under a second. If you're looking for some costume ideas to use this Halloween, then you can't go wrong with ninja costumes.

Becoming a Master of Stealth

A ninja costume is both cheap and easy to find. In fact, there are a lot of different ones to choose from. You can find the classic black ensemble pretty much everywhere, with more specialized costume stores selling more detailed and colorful versions. Some outfits come complete with weapons. There are even outfits for the lady ninjas, or "kunoichi" as they're known in Japan. Get a kids' ninja costume and you can go as an entire ninja family for Halloween. If your budget doesn't allow you to purchase a ready-made ninja costume, making one is as easy as diving into your closet and looking for black pants and a couple of black shirts. You can use a long-sleeved shirt for the top half of the costume. Just tie a short-sleeved shirt around your head and voila! You have an instant ninja mask.

  • Sash
  • Optional ninja weapons like a sword or nunchucks

Just make sure that the items listed above are the same color (if you're going for a classic look) or at least don't clash with each other. Ninjas are masters of stealth, so it wouldn't be a good idea to go sneaking around in a multi-colored costume that'll get you spotted faster than if you had a huge blinking sign saying "I am a ninja" on your head. The weapons are optional, but they do make ninja costumes look that much more kickass.
