Do-it-Yourself SpongeBob Costume

Creating a SpongeBob costume is a fun arts and crafts project. It all starts with a rectangular box. This will serve as the base of the entire costume. Cut out holes for your head, arms and legs. To create the sponge like costume, you can either use papier-mâché or actual sponge. Once you have this in place, you can start adding the details of SpongeBob's face by painting or by pasting construction paper cutouts. Non-negotiable facial features are SpongeBob's rosy cheeks, wide blue eyes and bucked front teeth. Once all these are done, paint SpongeBob's clothes composed of a white collared shirt, brown pants, black belt and red necktie. Wear this over yellow long-sleeved shirt and yellow leggings. Slip on a pair of white socks with red and blue stripes. Complete the look with a pair of black shoes.
